About the experience
Ever wanted to discover more about the incredible Dambuster Raid? This thrilling experience for two will take you up in a Bell 206 Jet Ranger for a tour of the training routes the brave 19 AVRO Lancaster bombers took. Soaring over the picturesque Peak District, the beautiful Mam Tor rock formations, the imitable Chatsworth House and more, you’ll see landmarks that were key in Operation Chastise over the 30-minute flight. A breath-taking experience, that’ll fully immerse you into history, it’ll create unforgettable memories.
What do I need to know?
- Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website
- It can be used on selected dates, March-November
- Minimum age: 16
- Any participants under 12 years old must be accompanied by a paying adult
- Maximum total weight is 30 stone/190kg
- Flights are weather dependant
- The helicopter will be a Bell 206 Jet Ranger or similar
- If your flight is cancelled due to extreme weather, your experience will be rebooked
- You will be allowed to take photos and videos from the aircraft
- There may be other participants on the experience with you
- The supplier reserves the right to remove or refuse any passengers from the flight if their behaviour is deemed unsafe or inappropriate

Do Not Phone
The Flight, Pilot and Ground Staff were all brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed it. My only complaint with the flight, was i couldn't hear the commentary so well, as the volume seemed a bit low.
Also a confirmation email i received a few days before the flight says. You must check one of the following before setting off to ensure the flight is going ahead.

I phoned up twice and listened to a pre-recorded message which did not mention my flight, and cost me around £3. I then checked the Departures Board via the link, which said my flight was Likely to go ahead, but you can check it anytime. I checked again the morning of the flight and my flight again was not showing. Fortunately it did go ahead and my wife and I both had a great time.
I would say you need to change your phone number to one that is not premium rate, and those flying, try the Departure Board link first.

Helicopter ride over Derwent dam
Unfortunately due to poor weather it was cancelled the night before our morning flight . We were told they would give us a 6 month free rebooking . They close from October until April and so we had a one month window to rebook (April 2024 ) . We travelled from Kent for this event . Our son is getting married in April 2024 and so we will have no time to rebook . This company should really give a 12 month booking option !
