About the experience
The city of Oxford may be home to one of the most famous universities in the world, but it’s also home to one of the UK’s best detectives; Inspector Morse. This guided tour will give you and your guest the chance to explore some of the iconic locations used within the original series as well as the popular spin offs Lewis and Endeavour. The tour begins in the heart of the old city where you’ll get to know locations such as The Randolph Hotel and the White Horse Pub before moving on to even more fascinating locations, you’ll even get an insight into author Colin Dexter and where his inspiration for the character came from.
What do I need to know?

Great Tour for all Morse and Oxford Fans
Our very knowledgeable guide took us, at a comfortable pace, around many of the locations used on Morse, Lewis and Endeavour. As a couple, we aren't very good tourists so this was a great way to see the more secluded parts of Oxford and the guide was able to link many places, in detail, to the shows. Given the team are so entrenched in Oxford they were even able to get us access to a college during exam time! ??

Brilliant Tour of Oxford
This was a brilliant tour around Oxford made very special by our guide, Elizabeth, who was very knowledgeable and informative with her interesting anecdotes and stories.

Absolutely brilliant, a great 2 hours
First of all it was raining heavily. but despite this everyone turned up for the tour, and show went on. Heidi Boon Rickard our guide was full of energy and had a real passion for her subject she was so infectious and happy to tell us what she knew. As the tour started it became obvious that we were in for a real treat and we were really impressed by her knowledge of all three programmes and that she was able to show us why Oxford was so special and right for these episodes. She was able to show us how more modern additions were covered and the as for the phone boxes they were brilliant, you'll have to do the tour to find out! Heidi also threw in other information about CS Lewis and Narnia and Tolkien and the Lord of the Rings and a lot of general history of Oxford and its many colleges. She knows a lot of people around Oxford and we even got into a recital briefly being performed at one of the churches. Heidi is obviously very respected.
Our tour lasted nearly 2 hours and she was very open to questions. We did dive for cover on a couple occasions which was welcome.
