Tired spa
Spa is in urgent need of refurbishment. Staff were great. Just poor spa facilities.

Spa Day for two with Lunch
Lovely spa day with two half hour treatments and use of all spa facilities. The venue was beautiful and treaments relaxing. The spa facilities were better than expected with a large outdoor heated thermal bath / hot tub, several saunas a steam room, ice room and salt room. The lunch of wraps followed by a slice of cake/ uice cream was adequate but not very exciting.

A disappointing treatment
We were gifted a My Morning Retreat Spa Day at the Macdonald Bath Spa.
The spa itself was very pleasant, and we enjoyed the facilities.
The "sumptuous" lunch consisted in either a sandwich or a salad plus a dessert. As we had read reviews, we already knew that and had no expectations. However, even though we wouldn't call it "sumptuous", it was very nice. Lovely presentation, plenty of it, and delicious, so no complaints there.
My one criticism is to do with the treatment. I had chosen the Elemis Best Foot Forward massage, which is advertised as lasting 25 minutes. Well, it barely lasted 15 minutes (which included a couple of minutes of hand washing by the masseuse and a few minutes leaving my feet to rest under the towel). When I queried it, the reply was that the 25 minutes included a consultation. What consultation? I filled it a form at the (unmanned) reception desk. The masseuse was polite but didn't ask me any questions when she came to fetch me. I felt very short-changed, bearing in mind our friends had paid to treat us to this gift, which was a great shame.
