My friends bought me a voucher for my 40th birthday, I was going to come alone but my friend said she would join me so I paid for that too. The ‘spa’ is disappointing to say the least. The steam room wasn’t even working, the sauna wasn’t very hot and some kind of outdoor pool was boarded up. The place itself is quite shabby and needs a good clean. Paint is peeling with the damp and the fan in the ladies changing and the lights in the restaurant are two areas I noticed that need a good dust. Unlike any spa I have ever been to, there are no complimentary refreshments available, unless you count drinking from a water fountain. There is of course a restaurant and bar but spa guests cannot access these unless they return to the changing room and get dressed first. Also you have to pay for any drinks that you order. Really, would a few teabags and cups of hot water be too much to ask?! Also, one of our fellow visitors was told their treatment was going to be put back by half an hour as the The pool and facilities are a nice addition if you are staying at the hotel but to sell it as a spa day is a bit of a stretch. We were very disappointed as it was one day in the whole of the summer holidays that we had booked to have together without our children but we were so unimpressed that we left once we had had our lunch.
