About the experience
Take the helm on a structured two-day RYA Powerboat Level 2 course at a dedicated training centre in Brighton Marina. Across classroom and on-water sessions, you’ll build confidence in controlling the boat at both slow and high speeds, learn navigation and safety for passage planning, man overboard drills, mooring and anchoring, plus essential rules of the road – a solid step towards independent coastal powerboating and an International Certificate of Competence.
What do I need to know?

- This is a two-day course
- The course usually runs from around 9.30am–5.30pm on both days
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum weight: 18st (115kg)
- A full kit list is provided on booking; extra warm clothing and waterproofs are needed
- Not suitable for those with spinal issues, other muscular skeletal issues, or who are pregnant
- Disability access is not available
- For some events the weather may cause the course to be cancelled, postponed or moved to an alternative venue at short notice
