Afternoon treat
We enjoyed our tea in the relaxed bar setting. The staff were attentive and the food was served quite quickly. It was nicely presented. There were a selection of sandwiches. Smoked salmon with cream cheese and cucumber, ham and mustard, cheese and
pickle and egg mayonnaise all nice and fresh and moist. This was followed by delicious scones with raspberry jam and clotted cream. To finish off there was a choice of cakes, 8 in all! Two each of red velvet, ginger, coffee and walnut and one I didn’t recognise. All washed down with a nice pot of tea. All served in pleasant surroundings.
We had a very relaxing couple of hours. It was all very nice. My only slight criticism was that, although the cakes were all very nice, they were all similar in texture and type. There was plenty of food and we brought home 2 of the scones and 7 cakes!
