Afternoon tea
We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at the Dog & Partridge. Well looked after and plenty to eat.

Great venue
The sandwiches were good nice and dainty. The cake wasn't so good but the scones and jam and cream were dilish tea ok but it was not served in china

Could do better
We were given this voucher in 2019 and were planning to take a trip on the Thames with lunch but covid got in the way and we had to extend our voucher which devalued it and we had to make do wiith Afternoon Tea with champagne. The sandwiches were very good but the cakes were cut slices from loaf cakes and one had a splurge of chocolate butter cream topped with half a strawberry. The choice of teas was very limited and the first 3 I asked for were unavailable, neither were we offered any champagne. The service was very slow, there seemed to be only 1 waiter serving the whole dining room.
The venue was a little tired. We were seated in the conservatory and fortunately it was a very overcast day because there were no blinds in the conservatory to shade you from the sun. Generally it was not the Afternoon Tea we were looking forward to.

Afternoon Tea
I have titled it Afternoon Tea as that was all we were offered. No champagne was given to us or offered although it was supposed to be. The food was good and a nice selection, the tea was breakfast tea but when we asked for more than the original pot all we got was more water on the original tea bags.
As a celebratory tea it was not quite what we anticipated would not recommend this hotel.
