About the experience
If you’re looking for a unique short break in South Wales, a one-night stay at the Welsh Gatehouse is just the ticket. Dating back to the reign of Edward I, this Grade II medieval castle is steeped in history. Pull up to a grand stone castle and enjoy the whole property to yourself for the night. Inside you’ll find the Welsh Gatehouse retains its traditional character with a roaring wood burning stove, wooden beams and stone mullion windows. As well as providing a cosy romantic retreat, this charming castle provides a fantastic base from which to explore South Wales and the Wye Valley, with plenty of walking trails right on its doorstep.
