About the experience
Surrounded by stunning views of Lake Windermere, the picturesque Hillthwaite is the ideal venue to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea with a loved one. As well as fruit scones topped with jam and clotted cream and a moreish collection of hand-crafted miniature cakes and pastries, you’ll be served a selection of freshly prepared finger sandwiches stuffed with classic fillings such as egg mayonnaise and coronation chicken. A cold and crisp glass of fizz will finish off your decadent afternoon.

A lovely treat
The afternoon tea at hillthwaite house was excellent. A great selection of sandwiches all freshly made. Lovely cakes and gorgeous fresh scones. Plus a glass of Prosecco & tea or coffee.

Excellent afternoon tea
Situated high above Windermere and Bowness, Hillthwaite offers fantastic views of Lake Windermere and the hills beyond. We received a friendly greeting from reception who introduced us to the friendly Maitre D. We were offered a choice of tables and elected for a window table to enjoy the spectacular view. The afternoon tea consisted of a very good selection of sandwiches, sausage roll , lovely scones with jam and clotted cream, an excellent selection of cakes and a really nice desert. There was a choice of tea or coffee ( we chose tea) and an enjoyable glass of Prosecco each. The meal as extremely enjoyable and the service excellent. We would have no reservation in recommending Hillthwaite and are in fact looking forward to booking a stay there.
