About the experience

This opulent hotel was built in 1927 and pays homage to its Art Deco heritage with original period features and beautiful décor that add a little magic to the space. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time to the roaring 20s, plus you’ll get to indulge in a scrumptious afternoon tea inspired by the era in the Palm Court. Dine on a selection of dainty sandwiches, intricate fine pastries and fluffy scones with preserves and clotted cream, and choose from a wide selection of rare and classic teas, ranging from black tea and green tea to herbal tea and oolong tea. Delicious!

Excellent Afternoon Tea

What a wonderful afternoon tea! Took my friend here for a birthday treat and we really enjoyed our visit. We arrived too early but this was no problem at all and we were immediately seated. Delicious fresh sandwiches, beautifully warm scones and a lovely array of sweet treats, all washed down with a lovely pot of chai tea. We were served by Ale, Sadia and Rave who gave exceptional service. Our sandwich and sweet treat selections were all explained to us, our tea was poured out for us, sandwiches and scones were replenished for us on request, (and boxed up for us at the end when we couldn’t quite finish it) and they even took lots of photos of me and my friend for us. Nothing was too much trouble and we really felt like valued customers. I would highly recommend the Afternoon Tea at The Palm Court.
