Walk on the wild side with an exciting Carnivore Keeper experience for two people at Dartmoor Zoo. It’s time to get your hands dirty as you enjoy the unique opportunity to look after four different species of big cat at the zoo. Discover the personalities of the individual animals and their history at the zoo, as you get stuck into preparing their food, learning all about their diets, routines and training. Find out how the zoo keeps their animals healthy and happy with this intense, hands-on experience, with entry to the rest of the zoo included once your experience is complete. For the finishing touch, head to the Jaguar restaurant to enjoy a slice of cake and hot drink as an added treat.

What do I need to know?

• Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website
• Available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 9.30am, year round, excluding Christmas Eve to Boxing Day
• It is recommended that you book well in advance to avoid disappointment as places are limited. Dates are available up to six months in advance
• Please allow three and a half hours for the whole experience
• Minimum age: 18 years
• Please note, this experience is hands-on with intense, hard work, so a good level of mobility is required
• This experience is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant, has a high blood pressure or is of a nervous disposition or is a wheelchair user
• The enclosure grounds may be uneven or muddy depending on the weather. Sturdy and supportive footwear is recommended, as well as clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
• All dates are subject to availability
